Cantica® Voice Ordering
The voice AI agent that turns phone calls into verified orders
Cantica® Voice Ordering answers calls, understands customers’ natural language and turns each request into a digital order checked against the menu, ingredients, allergens, availability, opening hours and actual kitchen capacity.
More than an automated phone system, it is an operational voice agent connected to the restaurant’s live data. Customers call as they always have, while the restaurant receives a structured, verified order ready for its takeaway or delivery workflow.
From phone-call chaos to a controlled process
Natural conversation, grounded in live data
Cantica® Voice Ordering can provide support during busy periods or serve as a dedicated channel for phone orders. The aim is to bring calls into the restaurant’s digital operations without changing customers’ habits.
How voice ordering works
Voice, language understanding and live data connected to your digital ecosystem
Cantica® Voice Ordering connects phone calls to the restaurant’s operational digital twin. When a customer calls, the AI listens, interprets the request using food-specific language understanding and checks it against the restaurant’s live data: products, ingredients, allergens, options, prices, opening hours, delivery areas and production capacity.
The system goes beyond free-form text. It turns the conversation into a verifiable digital structure, ready for the customer to confirm and for the restaurant’s operational workflow to receive.
Key capabilities of the AI-VoIP system for restaurants
Key Features
From Calls to Orders
When a customer calls, Cantica® responds in a natural voice, takes the request and guides them towards a complete order. The system can handle multiple calls, recognise the conversation’s context and transfer the call to staff when human input is needed.
Instead of a manual interruption, the call becomes a traceable digital workflow, ready to be checked and sent to the kitchen, management system or Vorreiordinare.it dashboard.
Food-Service Semantics
Cantica® does more than transcribe words. It interprets real restaurant language: “no mozzarella”, “add spicy salami”, “for eight o’clock”, “my usual”, “no anchovies”. It understands additions, exclusions, options, quantities, times and changes of mind during the call.
When a request is ambiguous, the system asks for clarification rather than guessing. It restates the request and proceeds only when the information is clear enough to produce an accurate order.
Grounded in Live Data
Every Cantica® response is grounded in the restaurant’s actual data. Products, ingredients, allergens, prices, options and availability come from the digital menu and the operational rules configured in the system.
This reduces the risk of invented answers: Cantica does not suggest dishes absent from the menu, promise unavailable ingredients or confirm information the system cannot verify.
Verified digital orders
Once it understands the request, Cantica® turns it into a structured order: products, quantities, changes, kitchen notes, collection or delivery time, contact details and payment method.
The order is sent only after a summary and the customer’s explicit confirmation. The restaurant receives a complete digital order, reducing mistakes, manual re-entry and misunderstandings between the phone, till and kitchen.
Capacity AI
Cantica® connects the conversation to what the kitchen can realistically handle. The system can check time slots, preparation times, production loads, delivery areas and rules set by the restaurant.
If a time slot is full, Cantica suggests suitable alternatives, such as earlier or later collection, rather than forcing the order through. This helps protect service quality and reduce disruption at peak times.
Control, escalation and data
Cantica® is designed to handle only what it can verify. For sensitive allergen enquiries, ambiguous requests, unlisted products or incomplete information, it can ask for confirmation, suggest alternatives or transfer the call to staff.
Every conversation generates useful data: peak call times, requested products, delivery areas, completed-order rates and unhandled requests. Phone calls become a source of operational and commercial insight.
